After 90 Days In The Product Factory, I Completed My First Product!

I have been ill during the entire time, but I was able to create my first product in the past 90 days. I am so proud of my first creation. It still needs work and tweaking, but it exists. I learned that having a professional-looking sales page is essential to a good presentation and reader response. However, when you do not have extra funds available, you do your best to put something together that works and keep refining it until you have cash-flow to go with the professionals. At least, that is what I think and do.

The sales page is meant to encourage opt-in sign ups who will receive the link to my actual product, a free PowerPoint presentation. I wanted to turn it into a multimedia flash presentation but still need time to put that together, so there will be changes over time. The free Special Report is not the end product. I am writing an ebook based on the report and input from my readers. That will be offered later.

I liked the atmosphere, camaraderie, complete lesson-plans, team spirit and resources available to me through this powerful program. It is designed for creating information products - ebooks, teleseminars, audio and video presentations, as well as print books. The Product Factory is designed for service providers, consultants, coaches and others who want to create and launch their own information products for business development.

What help do we get for this hard and dedicated work? The official launch of our products (122 new products in this session) through the Product Factory Mall and email to a large list of subscribers who are interested in learning about our new product offers. We are not alone. We are part of a community and developing friendships that will be long-lasting. I highly recommend the The Product Factory.

If you want to go directly to my product, click here.
I would appreciate any comments and feedback.

Website Logos Are Important

Franco came through with an excellent interpretation of my original logo. I have learned that when visitors come to a website, they will make a split-second decision of whether to stay a while or leave instantly. We only have seconds to convince them to visit. So guess what is important for accomplishing this task? Your website title and your logo. Are they interesting? Do they capture attention? If your answer to both questions is "No," then you had better keep revising and ask others to help you by providing their comments and suggestions. Even your customers and visitors can help you to refing your logo through surveys, but I'll talk about that next time.

What I want to do today is show you Franco's logo, then ask you to compare it with the original creation that is on my website. Feel free to comment and tell me what you think. I like the concept of the original logo but I cannot change the font. Franco captures the essence of the website and makes each word distinctive and meaningful. This is worth talking about. I'd like to read your comments!

P.S. I wanted to insert the logo here, but it was automatically placed at the top where logos belong. Until next time, distinguish yourself and gain success.

Today I Explored Other Blogs!

Wow! I've spent so much time in The Product Factory and attending to my health that a month has passed without any venturing forth on the web. I am so very happy that this changed today. I really want to get to know other bloggers and see what's out there in the blogosphere. After all, how do you get visitors to your blog if you don't visit others? Thanks to Blog Explosion, I surfed through several blogs, then selected to look specifically at business blogs.

I found a wonderful site by Franco, a free-lance web logo designer who is offering design free professional logos in exchange for placing a link to his site on your website. I have heard of using blogs to conduct business. Now I have found a wonderful example.

I left a comment, telling Franco what I wanted and where, but I have not met him of corresponded with him yet through email. I did notice that there is the possibility of trust problems for Franco. He puts in a lot of effort and will continue working on the design until the person who order is well satisfied, but then he finds that no link has been posted back to his website. That's unfortunate. So he requires that the link be placed before he begins the design. I espected to see the completed design before placing a link, but reread all of the posts before leaving and corrected my impression. So I have placed the linkback on my website and here. I am impressed with what Franco is doing and like his work. I hope that you will visit his website, for your information.

Those of us who are just starting out may not yet have money to pay a design service the $100+ fees to create logos for us. Franco's offer gives us a head start and allows us to experience our very first transaction with a design specialist.

Although Franco's offer is completely without charge and is a win-win situation if we refer others to him as he requests, it is also possible to make a donation for his services so that he has a means of making a living on the internet.

I've kept my word, Franco. I look forward to seeing the designs you develop for me and will show them here when I talk about the importance of logos in the development of online businesses.

Real-Life Communications

It's difficult to believe that so much time has passed since my last post. It appears that I am failing as a dedicated journal writer. Time really flies when I am ill or when I have been having too much fun. This lapse in recording is the result of both, but I have been quite busy most of the time.

I have joined a remarkable program called The Product Factory. We are a group of over 120 people who are dedicating 90-days of our lives to developing, producing and marketing a product for online distribution (read that sale or free gift)! Ninety-days! Twelve Weeks! Just short of three months! Wow! There's a lot to learn and do, but the company and the participation is outstanding.

I am in the last course for the year 2005, but the New Year will be here before we know it and new classes will start. Some of us will be invited to return and continue working on a project as well as lead the next assigned teams of enrollees. Everyone is outstanding with so many diverse skills and knowledge to offer.

This great and active learning environment is exactly what I need to complete my first product and make significant progress in building my website and developing my business. I've decided to let others help me through this process instead of trying to do it alone and simply guess what visitors want. This process is dynamic and definitely exciting. Already, I am accomplishing more than I believed possible in terms of time used and energy expended, thanks again to Simpleology and to the expectations in The Product Factory. These are programs that I highly recommend for anyone who is truly serious about establishing a firm web presence in a reasonable amount of time, without procrastination and with guiding deadlines.

My team and all participants in The Product Factory communicate through forums, tele-seminars, and buddy partnerships. I just submitted a response to a teammate who responded to my request for evaluation of a just-completed questionnaire that I will soon use on my site. I will share my response with you today. I hope to remember this always:

I truly appreciate your compliments, encouragement and suggestions. I also remember the graduate school research, project design and questionnaire- development studies. It's amazing that those skills never really leave us. They just lie dormant until needed again. No, I will not put the questionnaire in the pop-up. It will have a separate page that opens on request. The pop-up will be used to honestly tell the viewers what I am asking of them; how it will benefit them; and how long it should take to complete.

I hope that the order of the questions will keep each person interested in answering questions until the end and that they will feel that they have contributed to something important for themselves and for others who follow. The answers will help me to better focus the website and present information and products that they actually want, in addition to determining if the free report is worthy of turning into a book. They will actually have opportunities to return repeatedly to see the website develop according to their expectations (And, I love auto responders used to announce changes, additions and reminders to visit again). I should add an opt-in-list sign-up form at the end of the questionnaire to capture the information just for my warm-prospect auto responder.

My weakest area is in font selection and the use of multiple fonts on a page to distinguish sections. I would appreciate any further help I can get on this. Times Roman is my working font, but I must now realize that I am presenting a work in progress for everyone to see online, and that I must make corrective changes quickly. A modern typeface or two would be perfect. I like Arial and Verdana. The Trebuchet font used in this forum's text looks great. Does anyone know if it is a standard font for all computer browsers? Ultimately, I want to choose fonts that are readily available and will work well for everyone's viewing pleasure.

I always thought that there was only one opportunity to present a first impression, which is for the most part true, but I never truly realized that on the internet, people also see potential and concepts and are able to find the information they want from an incomplete website. It blows my mind that so many people have already bookmarked my site and that I am getting consistent new and returning visitors from around the world -- all of this before I had a concrete plan and before I really knew what I was doing. The finished project and my concrete gift to the global community will be my pride, joy, and satisfaction at the generative stage of life.

I look forward to returning to this page to continue recording my progress. I am just beginning to assume the identity of an online entrepreneur. The new clothing seems to fit me perfectly. Let's see how well I wear them.

Learning From Articles and Marketing Through Articles

I have been reading articles for my enlightenment in addition to selecting those that will be of benefit to my ezine and blog audiences. I am learning how important it is to present useful information before trying to sell anything (i.e. products or services). This makes sense now and is, indeed, practical advice.

Since each online entrepreneur is competing with evey other entrepreneur in his or her market sector, it becomes not only necessary but practical to find ways to stand out -- to distinguish ourselves from the crowd. My goal and your goal should be develop loyal customers who trust us and who will return to us again and again to meet their needs.

The concepts of developing loyal customers and of branding one's identity are well accepted in the offline world. We all recognize brand names and choose those companies, stores, service businesses, competitive telephone companies, etc., that best capture our trust and meet our needs. Their leadership in the marketplace and their capture of the largest share of sales comes from being well-known and trusted. The "little guy" without a plan for capturing his share of the marketplace will probably remain unknown, even within his small sphere of influence.

Is it really any wonder that so many businesses fail within a few short years? Setting up shop is the easy part of starting a business. But learning to keep a business growing and thriving requires a continual process of planning, goal setting, evaluation and refinement or "tweaking" of each success.

Now that I have said the above, I would like to introduce you to an article by Jim Daniels, who provides practical advice on moving beyond the platitudes. Jim's article, which is reprinted here with his permission, may help us both to take the next step. It is also presented to show how articles are used.

If you belong to any affiliate program that provides articles or you become an affiliate of Jim's program, you are allowed to insert your link into the articles so that you receive payment. Your affiliate marketer writes and makes the article available to you. Then you distribute the article far and wide. Any sales made through your online (or offline) promotion to your network brings you a percentage of the sales price in payment for your marketing efforts.

The following article will teach you how to get into action by using a car analogy:

"Stuck in Neutral? One Single Step Will Change Your Life Forever..."
By Jim Daniels

As most of my subscribers realize, I teach folks how to start and grow a business on the Internet. My books and software streamline and simplify all the tasks necessary to earn a steadily increasing income online.

But there is a step I rarely discuss -- a single step everyone must take before they can earn serious profits from any business. I like to call it shifting into First Gear. And today I'm going to show you exactly what this means, and why you must take this step.
We all know that every successful Internet venture requires things like a website, email marketing and search engine optimization. But before all those important steps can be put into place, something has to happen INSIDE OF YOU first.

In some people it just happens. You transform from a person who is programmed to work hard, in most cases as an employee -- into a person who works smart -- inspired to be creative, and self-employed.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is First Gear. Once you've achieved it, you're on your way.

Stay with me for a moment, this is very important...

Unfortunately, most folks never get out of neutral. Yes, some people are more than happy to stay there indefinitely. That's because neutral can be comfortable. After all, there are very few risks or changes when you're not moving forward.

Here's what Neutral feel like...

1. Getting up early every morning in most cases, with the aid of an alarm clock.

2. Going through your morning routine, striving to get to work on time.

3. Stopping for a cup of coffee on the way to work and thinking about, or in many cases, dreading your upcoming day.

4. Doing what you're told or what's expected of you for eight or so hours until the clock hits quitting time.

5. Going home and settling in for some TV time before you go to sleep, so you can wake up and do it all over again.

Sounds a bit mundane, perhaps even boring, eh?

Believe me, it can be if you let it. I know, because I was stuck in neutral until the ripe old age of 32. Neutral was all I knew. That is, until I answered a classified ad from a magazine and was introduced to the world of self-employment. Although the ad did not turn out to be my answer, my action was. Yes, that day something woke up in me and I shifted into first gear.

Here's what first gear felt like to me...

1. Getting up early every morning and writing down an idea or two about how to become self-employed.

2. Recording my new ideas on my audio cassette recorder on the way to work.

3. Putting in maximum effort at work until the clock hit quitting time, just to test my ambition and drive.

4. Recording more ideas and chapter headings for my first how-to book all the way home.

5. Trading my nightly TV time for 3-4 hours on the computer researching niches, entering my ideas and creating my projects.

Now, wouldn't you agree that's not too different than neutral? I mean, I did not quit my job (at least not until my new income source surpassed that of my 9-5) and I still had lots of time to do what I wanted. I simply motivated my brain to be more creative and use my time more wisely.

A better way to look at it like this...

I took a step in the right direction. I had no idea it would lead me to an income of more than $200,000 a year and hours shorter than a banker.

Actually, today I like to think of my current gear as "still upshifting", but now I'm in 3rd or 4th gear. I get up without the help of an alarm clock. I see the kids off to school. Weather permitting, I take a bike ride with my wife. (As a matter of fact, I just came back from a ride as I write this.) Then I take an hour or so and work on a thing or two in my new home in the country. Finally, when I feel like it I work a few hours on the computer. Then have lunch with my son when he comes home from kindergarten. I do a few more hours of work in the afternoon then horse around in the yard with my kids.

It's a lifestyle I never dreamed I'd achieve when I was stuck in neutral. But it happened because IN ONE MOMENT I made the conscious decision to shift out of neutral into first gear.

And that folks, is the step that most people never take.

So today I want you to answer just one question... are you stuck in neutral?

If you think the answer might be yes, I have two resources that can help you get into first gear quickly and painlessly. After all, sometimes all you need is a little nudge.

I've made arrangements with two friends of mine who are a couple of the world's most prominent "helpers" to help get you into first gear starting today. I call them helpers because "guru, coach and expert" are words that make people envision spending money. But my friends are waiving the cost of their help today, just for my valued subscribers. All you have to do is go and get it...

1. The first bit of help comes from Robert Imbriale. He makes his living creating millionaires from scratch.

Robert just released a new CD called, "How to Think, Act, and Become a Millionaire" and it's reasonably priced at $97. However, for my readers the $97 has been waived today. All you have to do is pick up the shipping and handling and you get the CD free. I just listened to the CD myself and can tell you that it WILL change the lives of more than a few of you reading this right now.

Grab Robert's valuable CD right now!

2. The second helper is a fellow named Mike Litman. Perhaps you've heard his high-energy style over the radio airways. In short, Mike is a leader in motivating people to greatness. In fact, he's just developed a new system called Unleash Your Greatness that reveals the #1 common characteristic of all self-made millionaires - quite revealing and interesting information that WILL help you 'get out of neutral.'

Grab Mike's valuable information!
OK, let's wrap today's lesson up...
No matter which guy you choose to listen to, or both, the main thing is that you take that first step in the right direction -- first gear.

That's the key to success - taking the first step and getting started. So choose a link above and do it today.

I wish you lots of success and see a relaxing, rewarding lifestyle in your future.
To your online marketing success,

Jim Daniels - JDD Publishing
Creator of ezWebBusinessBuilder.com - the world's first View it and Do It software for profiting from the web.

P.S. One last thanks to all of you who wrote letters raving about my new CD. It's heartwarming knowing that the software has helped so many of you get your web businesses going in the right direction.

P.S.S.. You have permission* to reprint the article above. Use it in your ezine, at your website or in your newsletter. The only requirement is including the following footer with it...

You Can Determine Your Future

Becoming an online entrepreneur requires the development of many skills. Continuing education and development are necessary to becoming successful and at the top of the marketing chain. Marketing requires many activities, including search engine optimization, placing classified ads, developing opt-in-lists in order to establish repeated contacts with customers, and arranging for the use of strategic linking and traffic exchanges. The goal is to reach a targeted audience -- people who have the same interests that I have.

Today, I am learning to write press releases. This is my new assignment. So I am trying my first attempt here. I would welcome your comments and suggestions.

Why am I doing this? Because I want to excel at what I do. And it wouldn't hurt to develop online credibility and eventually make sales. My goal is to obtain a Google Ranking of at least 4.

Right now I am ranked at 0/10 (zero out of ten). This blog is still too new to increase my Google ranking. You now know my topic and reason for presenting this draft press release, which follows:

Many Authors Have Written About the Psychology of Destiny And Manifesting Dreams But, For the First Time Ever, There Is Free To Use Online Software To Help The Online Community To Determine And Realize Life Goals

There are classic books in print that explain and teach how to get in touch with our real life purpose and goals through, first, knowing that these dreams exist, then imposing clarification. However, it doesn’t stop there. The authors also teach the importance of eliminating negative thoughts and feelings by substituting positive, affirming thoughts. This new software condenses all of this knowledge into 5 interactive steps.

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 8, 2005 – The internet community is filled with people who are trying to reach their life and business dreams. The problem is that most people really don’t know how to accomplish this. Some of the causes of disappointment stem from discouragement; lack of knowledge; fear; uncertainty; and procrastination.

It is no longer necessary for these people to spend lots of time and money seeking this knowledge unless, of course, they want to. There will always be a place for in-depth study and personal libraries. However, now they can take a leap forward with online Manifestation Software that is known by several names, including “The Attractor Factor” and “Get What You Want” online software. The Manifestation Software is distributed with the permission of Dr. Joe Vitale, whose book, The Attractor Factor, was the inspiration for this software.

The designers of this software are rising stars in the internet world. Their free release of this software meets an important need among surfers and entrepreneurs alike: How to accomplish and achieve what matters most in life. Their homepage is completely filled with testimonies from grateful users of the software. One user said: “Thank you, XXXX! I loved it! You made it so easy for me to follow the steps and clarify my thoughts in a healthy, healing way. I am so grateful. I appreciate you!” (XXXX)

The passages to the software are two links, one near the top of the page and the other at the bottom. They are completely surrounded by overwhelming testimonies to the effectiveness and helpfulness of online Manifestation or the Attractor Factor or “Get What You Want” online software.

There is a surprise at the end, after receiving the documented results of one’s efforts to clarify and “get what you want” in life. One can choose to become an affiliate and gift the software to others, no strings attached. The Mangrums, who want to help make the world a better place, request that users of the software share their website “with everyone you know and give the priceless gift of manifestation to a friend, business associate, boss or loved one!” It is possible to begin receiving income by introducing this valuable service.

I am an affiliate. I am doing my part to share this remarkable software with the world. For additional information on the distribution and use of the new online Manifestation Software that is the subject of this release, contact Carol Matseoane or visit my website. This software is immediately available online and takes only minutes to complete.

Acknowledgments go to Jason and Skye Mangrum and Hypnotic Marketing, Inc. who are the creators of the software and copyright owners of the website. The software is based on the best-selling book by Dr. Joe Vitale, The Attractor Factor. [End]

The result of this post and my classified advertising should result in a beginning Google Ranking. Let's see what happens and how long this takes.

Evaluation Day

Today is an evaluation day.

I want to make certain that I am keeping within my target-goals and that I am following the Knowledge Master Keys which I have turned into a checklist. Thanks to Simpleology.com, I have an overarching view to maintain my perspective.

But I have lost focus many times since starting this blog. I've been distracted by many things, including turning my attention to the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans. My prayers go out for everyone – the dead and dying, the survivors, the rescuers and helpers, and those who are part of the national and worldwide outpouring of assistance.

Having said this, I return to my primary focus. You will understand why I must do this by the end of this entry. I cannot change what has happened as a result of Hurricane Katrina. I cannot be there to help. But I can continue to build my business and perhaps be available to do more in situations of future need.

Overall, I have made acceptable progress. I am working on two more sections to add to my website within the next two days.

I have kept the 5 laws of Simpleology in mind:

1. The Law of Straight Lines
2. The Law of Clear Vision
3. The Law of Focused Attention
4. The Law of Focused Energy
5. The Inescapability of Action/Reaction

With understanding, acceptance and taking action on these immutable laws, I can take daily effective and efficient actions to bring everything together. I continue to build my website, setup and implement a marketing plan that I must continually tweak to make it as efficient and effective as possible so that I will begin to get increasing sales.

My mind has embedded the Scientific Formula for Success:

1. See your target
2. Keep it in your sites
3. Hit it (until you hit it)

I won’t stop until I have accomplished each goal fully and successfully. How do I do this? By remembering and effectively using:

The 3 Sources of Power

1. Time
2. Energy
3. Money

How do I continue on my Pathway to Power? By spending 15 minutes at the beginning of each day reviewing alternate Daily Target Praxes as outlined by the Simpleology course.

Every day and with every step, I am required to make the 2 most important decisions of my life. These decisions are:

1. Will I choose to take action that brings me closer to or further away from my desired
target?

2. Will I make decisions that strengthen of weaken my power?

This blog will help me to stay focused and evaluate my decisions. Thanks to Simpleology 101, I can do this effectively.
